What is grounding for me?

I started my morning meditation practice 27 years ago.

Every morning, 5 minutes, for one year. I kept returning because of the subtle changes I felt within me. Connecting me to the earth and all the natural sounds and beauty.

Connecting me to my true self as I trained to stay focused on my breath each time my mind wanted to drift into the past or future the “what if's,” the not knowing and stressing over what hasn't happened.

Taming that monkey mind is a hard practice but so worth it to live in the present moment where we know we can handle that...what is here now.

I felt the stress leave my body and my mind

After one year, I moved to 10 minutes, 20 minutes and eventually 30 minutes.

NOW I am so comfortable with it because I look forward to being by myself. I like who I am and who I am becoming because each time you show up to your meditation practice it is a conscious practice of connecting to your true self, letting all the littleness GO. The junk, the stuff that doesn't belong.

It is here where you learn to let go of what you don't need all the things that haven't happened.

It is here where you KNOW you can handle what is in the present moment because that is where your inner strength lies.

It is here that you learn to focus on what is happening now in the present moment.

It is where Peace resides.

It is here where you tap into your inner wellbeing and your health.

It is here where you discover that good health is inner peace.

It is here where you fill your soul.

It is here where you self-realize that health and wholeness are your birthright. You realize who you are, and you build on that as you practice every day.

It is here where you learn to offer yourself love and kindness... no judgement.

It is here where true self compassion is cultivated.

AND

It is here where self-compassion grows into true compassion for others.

It is here where you find your purpose.

It is here where you discover or rediscover your gifts and your passions.

AMEN
